Tanzanians Get Early X-mas Gift As Magufuli Bring Two New AIRBUS 220-300

AIRBUS A220-300 to become operational in Africa for the first time through Air Tanzania
A manufacturer of airbus planes in Mirabel, Montreal,  in Canada, yesterday officially introduced a new plane, Airbus A220-300, to be operated for the first time in Africa, through the government of Tanzania airliner, Air Tanzania.

The plane manufacturing company says Tanzania’s airbus plane is the first one for airways companies on the African continent as the country’s reform minded President John Pombe Magufuli rocks the African skylines.

The Airbus plane, with the length of 38.7 meters and the width of 11.5 meters and 35.1 meters of wing length, has a capacity of carrying160 passengers. Besides that, the plane has the capability of traveling the distance of 5,920 kilometers and being filled with 21,918 liters of fuel.

According to the manufacturer, the plane has been made with the system of enabling the passenger to travel comfortably because its seats are wide enough to make the passenger feel free and enjoy the cruise.

Planes of the family of Airbus A220 were previously known as Bombardier C-Series (C- Series) as they were innovated by Bombardier Aerospace of Canada.

In October 2017, the Airbus manufacturing company bought ownership of 50.01 percent of C- Series planes (now known as A220), whereby Bombardier remained with 31 percent while Investment Québec having 19 percent.

A220-300, which was previously known CS300, took off for the first time on February 27, 2015 and awarded its first certificate on July 11, 2016. It started providing its services in partnership with Baltic Airlines on December14, 2016.

After starting to provide its services, different people, passenger’s pilots of the plane gave a feedback about being satisfied with the high quality of the plane and its performance.

President Magufuli who vowed to revamp the Air Tanzania has already in his stock 3 Q400 Bombardier and one Boeing Dream liner. As the country awaits the two AIRBUS 220, in October, 2019 another Dream liner will land in Tanzania.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on a local radio, the country’s Chief Spokesperson, emphasized that the new planes have already increased Air Tanzania’s revenues, passenger base and will later next year fly international routes to attract more investors and tourists.
